January 2015

A Happy New Year to all our readers and supporters.  This year we will be continuing our work with refugees, victims of war and disabled children in the Middle East.  Our work with the Hussein School for Disabled Children in Amman, Jordan has continued with a donation of instruments and more training for staff and children. Music Therapy is not a common concept in this school although they were delighted to welcome us and were very supportive of the ideas and the work.  Their main plea was that we could stay for longer and never leave!

Abrahim, is severely disabled and has little use of his arms or legs.  He has never played a musical instrument before so we were delighted to see his determination when given the instrument below

Can you spot his percussion instrument? He has made use of his wheelchair and his toes to creatively use this instrument to join in with the rest of the class as they make music together.
The other children show by their eager, happy faces, that music can make a difference. These percussion instruments which were donated by supporters such as yourselves will stay at the school for future use and we hope to provide more training in the coming months.
